We Are All Extraordinary Retreat - Sacred Valley, Peru
Politics
ISN'T THERE POLITICAL UNREST IN PERU RIGHT NOW?
Yes there has been political unrest in Peru recently and we are aware of it.
The truth is we are not prophets so we cannot predict what will be-- that is in Hashem's Hands— AND we are hopeful that in a couple months time that travel conditions in Peru will be back to normal. We have a team on the ground of expat friends and local Peruvians that we are checking in with as time unfolds, as well as a number of friends who are currently traveling in Pisac (the village we are planning to visit). They had no issues arriving there in their recent travels.
Because we are receiving a big YES to journeying to Peru in May in so many ways on personal and spiritual levels, we have decided to forge ahead with hundreds of hours of planning, details, and numerous personal investments with the FULL intention that this trip will happen!
Is it a significant financial risk for us? Yes ma'am. Yes sir. C'est la vie.
OK BUT WHAT ABOUT US FOLKS SIGNING UP FOR THE RETREAT? HOW WILL WE BE AFFECTED IF WE REGISTER & PAY?
We want to be very clear, and have done quite a few hours of research to be very transparent about what can and can't be refunded, what our plan is to accommodate you, and what our recommendations are to protect your investment as much as possible just in case you do not go on this retreat.
FIRST THINGS FIRST: TRAVEL & FLIGHT INSURANCE. Buy it.
Our staff has spent ample time calling different insurance companies, getting quotes, asking about coverage, etc. One travel insurance we recommend is called Travel Insured https://www.travelinsured.com. This company offers a policy where you can “cancel for any reason” and receive up to 75% of your trip costs back in case you cancel for a reason they don’t cover on their regular policy. If you cancel for a reason covered under their regular policy, they will reimburse 100% of your trip costs. Important to note: political unrest is NOT a covered reason to cancel. Airline closure due to the airline being on strike is covered. It’s important you get clear about the policy you choose. It might cost you extra to cover more, and if you are feeling called to this trip perhaps consider it part of the cost. We recommend paying more for the “cancel for any reason” policy. It’s up to you what feels more comfortable.
*A note when considering what expenses to cover in your policy: if we have to cancel the retreat, we will refund as much of your money as possible. There will be some non-refundable expenses on our end that we will have to deduct out of what we return to you.
*If we go and you decide not to go within 30 days of our scheduled retreat start date (May 1), we will not refund your trip. This is what insurance is for.
*If we go to Peru and Machu Picchu is closed for some reason, as it is now, we will go to another magical destination instead. Possibly Rainbow Mountain for example. We don’t anticipate it being closed, although again there are no guarantees in life. It is Peru’s biggest tourist destination, and we imagine they want to keep it open.
In terms of flight insurance, please buy the best one your airline has to offer AND/OR buy a higher priced ticket that will refund you should you decide to cancel. Why not just be safe and cover your bases. This is an expense to consider while deciding to say yes to this trip. In any case, you’ll probably get to enjoy more leg room and possibly even an extra paid for bag to bring home souvenirs with more ease this way.

***All airlines have different policies! Please don't get scared away at first search for flights. We have found some very reasonable prices for refundable tickets (for example we found a fully refundable round trip ticket from Toronto to Lima on Avianca for $850 USD), and we are happy to help you look to see if there is something you might have missed. Please reach out. We know finding the best flights is not everyone's greatest skill, and fortunately for us we happen to have a flight fairy on our team who is really good at this. With that said, please respect our time and only inquire for help if you are ready to commit to this retreat and purchase your flight if we find you a good one. If you are on the fence and still need some help deciding, that's ok too. Please just be aware of our time and ask us for help once you've really checked in with yourself and are at least leaning towards coming. Thank you!***
WHY IS MY DEPOSIT NON- REFUNDABLE?
The deposit is to secure your spot as space is limited. The way a retreat is planned is that the venues, staff, programs, etc. all require non-refundable deposits from us in order to hold spots for our group. We pay upfront for this to happen, and we do not get refunded; therefore, we cannot refund that money.
WE WANT EVERYONE TO COME. And we want everyone to come with a good attitude. We believe in informed consent!!! We do not want you to make any financial investment in this journey to Peru without considering all the matters we are addressing here. We pride ourselves on being honest and loving beings, and we are making our greatest effort to keep it real with you. We trust you to check in with your own intuition and wisdom and make the best decision for you. And please feel free to email us with any questions that arise for you.
Again, we assume all will be fine and wonderful, but the last thing we want is anyone to be upset, or upset with us. So please consider this wisely and carefully when choosing to jump in with us.
Why such a long explanation? Because we care about you, your felt sense of safety, and your hard-earned money. And we want to lay it all out with full transparency and radical honesty.
Thank you for your understanding and bravery! We are so excited to share this journey with whoever fells as called as we do at this time!
